Harga sebuah pengorbanan…

May 20, 2008 · 2 Comments

Ever since I accidentally found his fotopages, I’ve religiously been following his ever interesting and wonderful works. Apart from learning from the great photog himself of the tips and tricks of great photography, every now and then he takes time to share with others about his success story. His latest entry seems to sum up best of all the sacrifices he have to take and make to be where he is today. Kudos to him…

Hari yang ditunggu…

May 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Sibuk bebenar sy selepas balik dari roadtrip Ahad lepas. Jadinya, tak menyempat sy nak update blog. Nak mengadap laptop ni pun kejap2 jer.

Since our flight back to KL is on May 22, so hal2 berkenaan dengan rumah, bil2, alamat surat menyurat dan bank nak kena selesaikan secepat yang mungkin. Tak le rush nanti minggu depan. Boleh plan gi picnic kat Grafton Lake for the last time :D .

And for those of you who are interested to follow the event, here’s the link to the live webcast. I’ll update more about it later tomorrow night.

Pusing2 di Statue of Liberty Island

May 12, 2008 · 2 Comments

Pagi tadi selesai bersarapan nasi lemak yang sungguh sedap tak terkira (thanks Abg Amir and Kak Saffa!), kami bergerak ke Liberty State Park. Tak le jauh sangat dari Englishtown, cuma dalam 50 minit perjalanan. Weather pun cantik; the sky was crispy blue.

As expected, Liberty State Park tak sesak seperti di Battery Park, NY. Parking pun way2 much cheaper than the latter, $5/day. Ticket for adult is $10 and half price for kids between 4 – 12. Masa nak lepas ke jeti, kena security check dulu. Macam naik kapai terbang lak. Most probably because the island is considered as one of a risky and highly targeted areas. Polis aje kiri kanan…

Our ferry departed right according to schedule, 11:00 am. Oh ya, sebelum terlupa. Bayaran $10 tu untuk tiker ferry. Untuk masuk ke Statue of Liberty Island free jer.

First stop, Ellis Island.

Road Trip USA: Day 5

May 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Yesterday, we spent the whole afternoon at Central Park. While the rest of the family joined the other New Yorkers at the Central Park Zoo, I chose to cover the beautiful park by walking from one end to the other. Mana taknya, I parked the car at 103th St and the zoo is at the 64th St, hehehe…

Today we will be heading to Liberty State Park, NJ. Place to visit: Statue of Liberty. Ingatkan semalam nak terus je naik ferry di Battery Park selepas habis pusing2 Central Park. Tapi parking sj dah $24.50/hour. WHAT? Baik pergi ikut New Jersey, parking baru $5/day. Lagipun tak crowded macam di Battery Park. Later….

Road Trip USA: Day 3

May 9, 2008 · Leave a Comment

We’re now at New Haven, home to one of the prestigious Ivy League schools, Yale University. Our plan for today: Solah Jumaat at noon, lunch at Warong Selera (thanks Kak Shila), a visit to Yale University (the latest flick of Indiana Jones was shot here last summer) and we’ll end our day by taking a stroll down the beautiful beaches of New Haven….

Ayu and I managed to take tons of pics yesterday at Boston. Our fav spot without a doubt was Boston Commons Public Park. The scenery was simply majestic with blooming tulips and stunning landscape. I’ll try to upload the pics soon…

Alhamdulillah…

May 8, 2008 · 1 Comment

It’s 12:42 in the morning now and here I am writing this long-awaited entry in the comfort of a studio suite somewhere in Boston (thanks to Hotwire for the ridiculous discount given by them :) ) . With $36 a night for a 3-star hotel, I definitely have no qualm what so ever except for of course, bebanyak terima kasih :D .

Allright, moving on. Ever since my final semester ended a few days back, I’ve been keeping tab on my degree status via RPI’s student portal on a daily basis. Risau gak, mana tau ada course yang tersangkut ataupun ada hold yang belum diselesaikan. Dah tak boleh walk on commencement day pula nanti…

For the past last 3 months, my degree status was PRC which stands for ‘Preliminarily Cleared’ . It basically means that my degree requirements will be met upon successful completion of this semester’s coursework and exam.

And boy, was I excited to find out just now that they have changed my status from PRC to CLR for ‘Cleared for the degree and all degree requirements are satisfied’. Alhamdulillah. No more sleepless nights…
