Mind Map…

September 28, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I’ve been a lil’ bit preoccupied since coming back from Raya last week. Ada a few reports nak kena siapkan.  This morning alone, I’ve just submitted one working paper to one of the heads in the department proposing a 4-month research studies to be undertaken in order to better improve the information delivery system for the benefit of our stakeholders and our workforce…

This I believed, will be my maiden large-scale research studies I’ve ever initiated over the past 10 years during my service with the department (well, of course dengan syarat diluluskan terlebih dahulu). Dulu interested gak nak conduct research semua ni, tapi tak berani lak. Dah le tu, pengalaman cam kurang jer.

The best part was I came across the idea only last week, during malam raya. Later that night, I jotted down the rough structure of the study in a mind map form and then in malam raya pertamanya there I was punching the keyboards non-stop like crazy, hehehe.

Oh yes btw, sebut pasal report ni, dulu sy memang pasrah habis bila kena suruh siapkan satu. Berkurun lama baru nampak draf pertama.  Sekarang okey skit, dah tahu camna nak tackle the challenge. Kuncinya dah tentu practice, practice and practice.

Sama gak ngan isu public speaking sy sebelum ni. Dulu sampai nak tersembam ke lantai, takut nak bercakap punya pasal. Memang semua ni perlukan banyak latihan. Baru la mantap, tak gitu bro?

Tak caya? Cuba tengok camna En Ronaldo dan En Beckham training hari2. Orang lain dah balik ke rumah lepas sesi training habis, tp diaorang still sambung training lagi. Practice makes perfect…

En Ronaldo…

I believed he’s enjoying every single moment he’s spending nowadays gracing the field of Estadio Santiago Bernabéu and playing in La Liga. He’s so full of self-determination and self-belief. Can’t wait for the Champions League to enter the knock-out stage…

Read this over the weekend…

Information overload
Too many emails, texts and tweets can lead to rising anxiety, lower intelligence – and a generation of BlackBerry orphans

Done reading,  a very informative article. Btw, BlackBerry orphans sounds just too scary for me…

BlackBerry orphans: Children who desperately fight to regain their parents’ attention from the devices – in at least one reported case, by flushing a BlackBerry down the toilet.

This whole thing about information overload makes me to avoid Twitter altogether, although kekadang terasa gak nak join…

Secret to happiness…

I’ve read his book, The Paradox of Choice back in 2007. Good stuff about how sometimes the more options you have doesn’t mean you’re better off. It could be the other way around.

I couldn’t agree more when he said, “The secret to happiness is low expectations and less choices.” :D

September 22, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Waduh2, apsal la diaorang tak mengoffer MS ni dulu? For those of you who are interested to learn more about UX Design, I would strongly suggest you consider this particular MS from Kent State University.

It’ll cover these four areas:

  • Information architecture
  • Interaction design
  • Visual design and
  • Usability studies

Rasa cam nak ambil MS satu lagi lak, huhu…
