More is Less?

The book I am reading right now…

Imagine this. You’re in the supermarket doing your groceries. Earlier, your other half asked you to buy a loaf of bread. Assuming that you don’t have any preferred choice, how do you decide which one should you pick from the 20++ different types of bread?

Are you a satisficer or a maximizer? Do you contemplate through all the choices available before deciding which one to grab (a maximizer) or do you just pick one at random (the I-have-better-things-to-do-with-my-life type satisficer)? Will more choices provide a better solution for us? Is more is less? What do you think?

  1. ‘Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved.’ – William Jennings Bryan (1860 – 1925)
