KIPPAS…

KIPPAS k, not KIPAS. With double P…

KIPPAS stands for (Kios Pembaharuan Pasport), a super duper easy peasy way to renew your passport.

Kudos to the Immigration Departmenet for introducing thiskiosk…

This morning, I went early to Pusat Bandar Damansara to renew my passport. Awal sungguh la, jam 7:00 dah parking kereta. Pasalnya borang yang dicetak semalam belum diisi lagi. Kena lengkap mana yang patut dulu…

Siap semuanya, terus naik tangga nak ke pejabat Imigresen. Terperasan lak cik KIPPAS. Macam menarik. Jom kita cuba try test tengok…

Here’s the low down of the things that need to be done when interacting with KIPPAS:

  1. Ambil sampul surat yang disediakan dan isi nama, no MyKAD dan no tipon
  2. Masukkan pasport lama dan MyKAD ke dalam slot di kiosk untuk tujuan pengesahan
  3. Imbas ibu jari (kanan/kiri) di kiosk tu
  4. Masukkan duit (RM100 for 2 years and RM300 for 5 years)
  5. Masukkan sekeping gambar, salinan MyKAD dan pasport lama ke dalam sampul surat yang diisi memula tadi tu
  6. Slot ke dalam ruang yg disediakan
  7. Ambil resit
  8. Pas tu, tunggu 2 jam

Took me roughly around 5 mins to complete the whole thingy. Went for nasik lemak @ KFC. Mind you, I was the 1st customer, that was 8:03 am. Stayed there for quite a while until 9:25 am while skimming thru the Star.

By 9:30 am, I was already terpacak at kaunter 17 to get my angka giliran. Waited for a couple of mins before my number was called. Went to kaunter 15, produced my MyKAD, place my signature on the new pasport.

That’s it! Walla, huhu…

Btw, I opted for 2 years instead of 5 year-life span. Kena bayar RM100 jer. Gaji tak masuk lagi la nak go for 5 years, hari Isnin ni baru bank-in…
