Something, something…

This morning, gloomy abis datang opis after witnessing the Reds succumbed to defeat against the Red Devils last nite.

Looking back at the so called “tackle” which lead to the 1st min’s penalty kick by En Dimitar, most likely he somehow or rather terbaca what the celebrated World Cup ref, En Howard told the Tangerines last month about something, something, huhu…

Even the former English top referee, En Graham Poll has a thing or two to say about the incidence…

Btw, the red card awarded to En Steven G was spot on, no doubt about it. That two-footed lunged against Michael Carrick was totally unnecessary. What make things worse, he could be missing 3 leagues matches. Ouch!

One short of a hatrick

Liverpool fans all around the world know how HUGE is the derby game between Liverpool and Everton. I missed out on last nite’s game since I was on my way balik kampung (by the way, kami stopped at R & R Tapah to break our fast and the scene over there was like a carnival, simply love it 🙂 ) .

Anyway in all seriousness, I’ve just finished watching the game’s highlights on the Net. Sure, Toress was unlucky not to get a hatrick. But one thing that caught my attention was the way he responded to Everton’s fans “supportive chanting” . I was actually quite nervous on that one incident of him staring at the fans prior of him getting a yellow card for a tackle. Jangan la ada kungfu kick ala Cantona. Luckily he managed to control his temper and walked away from the scene.

Sabar bang, might as well channel your energy for something better. Like getting some goals for the Reds perhaps? And that was what exactly he did. At the end of the game, he managed to get a brace, just one short of a hatrick…

Kena lagi…

The turning point of the game: Mascherano got red carded

Ouch! Man U 3 Liverpool 0. Not good, not good at all. Tahun lepas kata, tahun ni nak jadi champion. Tahun lepas2 pun kata tahun lepas nak jadi champion. Tahun ni lak, for sure Rafa & Steven G akan kata tahun depan jadi champion. Manusia hanya merancang. Takdir jua penentu segala…

Nasib baik Kedah menang semalam, tak la sedih sangat. Maaf yer orang Perak. Btw, yang bestnya, bila MB baru sebut je dapat masuk percuma, berderu orang datang ye. Gerai #15 jual nasi tomato sure kencang duit masuk. KFC sebelah Stadium Darulaman tu pun mesti laku habis. Manager sure happy 🙂 …

Sy pernah kerja kat KFC tu for 3 good months (lepas habis A-Level). Pagi petang siang malam makan KFC. Sudahnya, sampai skarang tak jejak kaki ke KFC lagi 😀 .

There’s this thing about Liverpool nowadays. I kinda noticed that whenever they’re playing against top teams especially against those Europeans’ big guns like Inter, AC Milan, Barca etc, their game play seems flawless, and even impeccable some times.

Take for instance tonight’s Champion League’s game: a 2 – 0 win against Serie A front runner, Inter Milan. The sending off of Materazzi looks a bit controversial to me, but still that’s the beauty of football. Nothing is certain and predictable. Well, not unless if they are death and taxes of course.

But wait, what about last week’s lost against Barnsley in the FA’s 5th round match? Come on Rafa, don’t play2 one. Why can’t you just forget the rotation system and let the best players roaming the field instead…

A good start under the new gaffer…

A2 – 1 win against Swiss. A good start for Capello. Some said this win is a must for the new gaffer to set a good tone for the rest of the upcoming features. He achieved that. Kudos to him!

But don’t forget, under Sir Alf Ramsey, the only England’s manager who managed to guide the team to win the ’66 World Cup, England suffered a 2 – 5 lost again France on 27 February 1963 at Paris on his first game managing the team.

So, in a way, a win in the first match in charge doesn’t tell much really. What’s more important is their first match in their World Cup 2010 qualifying campaign on September 6 against Andorra.

My personal take of today’s match: Bentley had a wonderful nite, hope he can keep up his work rate. So did Joe Cole. I’m not to sure about the strikers though. Rooney is superb when he’s on form, but looks like he still need that somebody to provide him with the killer passes he receives week in week out at Man U. Crouch, hmmm… ingatkan dah kena jual pi City. No komen. Owen, cam tak ada can jer nak main under Capello.

On another note, Torress is injured. Ouch, the big game against Chelsea is coming this weekend. We’ll just have to wait and see. Hope it’s just a minor scare…

FIFA’s World Player of the Year

//www.yeniresim.com/img1033.htm

The list is out. It’s either Kaka, Ronaldo or Messi. Who will be crowned FIFA’s World Player of the Year? Last year, it was Cannavaro who bagged the award, thanks to his excellence performance in 2006 World Cup.

This year the race seems tight. All three of them are performing quite well week in week out. It’ll be great to see Ronaldo to win the award as he will be the first player from an English club to claim the award. Messi is doing quite well at Barca too. But I don’t think it’s worth to predict who is my fav’s player for the award 😉 . He’s a Brazilian. It says everything!

It’s now or never England…

Last week England was given a lifeline when Russia was beaten unexpectedly by Israel. Thus, for tonite’s game against group leader, Croatia: The ball is in your court now, it’s time to deliver. No more excuses for McClaren and his boys.

A draw will do just fine, but a win will be the icing on the cake thus securing a place in Euro 2008. By the way, apa cerita ngan team bola Sukan Sea Malaysia? Moga2 pulang membawa kejayaan.

Update: Ouch! At half time, England is trailing by 2 goals. Becks and Defoe are coming in. Hope they can help inspire a great comeback! Boy, are they missing Rooney and Owen more than ever…

It’s official. Three Lions is out after losing to Croatia 2-3. Russia sneaked in after beating minnows Andora 1-0. 😦
